Big news in the gaming industry. Valve announced new steam hardware that will be available in early 2026. The hardware is Controller, Steam Machine, and Steam Frame. Let’s start with a steam controller, the layout will be similar to playstation but under sticks will be 2 touchpads. There will also be grip-enabled gyro. Hold and release to enable and disable gyro aiming. Steam Frame, it’s an oculus like VR headset that can be used by itself or with a computer. Valve also added Foveated Streaming, it’s a technology that makes picture better depending on where you look at improving image quality and effective bandwidth if you use it with a wireless adapter. The specs of the vr are 4nm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 equivalent to Ryzen 5 7540U. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is a high-performance mobile processor featuring a 1x 3.3 GHz Prime Core, 3x 3.2 GHz Performance Cores, 2x 3.0 GHz Performance Cores, and 2x 2.3 GHz Efficiency Cores, with a 4nm process and a 1000 MHz Adreno 750 GPU. It has 16gb LPDDR5X ram and supports up to 1TB of storage. And the last and the best the Steam Machine it will be a living room pc or not living room. It’s still a pc and you can do anything with it, Valve will not stop you. It can run up to 4K 60FPS thanks to AMD FSR. The specs of the Machine are Semi custom AMD Zen 4, 6 Cores 12 Threads up to 4.8 GHz and it only use 30Watts of power that is a beast, It’s equivalent to Ryzen 5 7400F same 6 Cores 12 Threads but still on same Zen 4 architecture. The gpu is AMD RDNA3 it’s equivalent to AMD Radeon RX 7600M or an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 mobile graphics card, for the ram there is 16GB DDR5 ram and 8GB GDDR6 for GPU VRAM. The storage is up to 2TB NVMe ssd so it will hold all of your games. I almost forgot about the size of the machine. It’s surprisingly small, 6 inch or 160mm cube smaller than a banana and its weight is 2.6kg or 5.7 pounds. That’s all for the gaming news.
