Futures left it all on the field Wednesday, but Foresthill once again proved to be a tough matchup. After falling to the Wildfires back in August, the Knights battled hard in the rematch before coming up short, 33-6. And while the scoreboard wasn’t in their favor, it’s worth remembering the challenge they faced — Foresthill sits at No. 318 in the California rankings, compared to Futures’ No. 696.
Still, the Knights showed grit, passion, and determination, refusing to roll over despite the odds. Their defense held strong for stretches, and their effort kept fans engaged right down to the last whistle. Foresthill’s standout Carly Clarke had a huge night with 85 rushing yards and two total touchdowns, marking her best ground performance since September 2024.
The Knights now hold a 4-5 record, but the loss doesn’t erase the fight they showed against a powerhouse opponent. On the flip side, Foresthill is riding high, picking up their sixth straight victory to improve to 9-2. The Wildfires clearly look like one of the toughest squads in the region right now.
Looking ahead, Futures gets another chance to prove themselves in a rivalry clash with Mesa Verde at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. With both defenses among the toughest around — Futures allowing just 12.7 points per game and the Mavericks giving up only 7.6 — it’s shaping up to be a real grind-it-out battle. At the same time, Foresthill faces off with Elite, where two more stingy defenses are bound to keep points at a premium.

Futures, listen — last game is behind us. It stings, sure, but what matters is what we do next. A comeback isn’t built overnight, it’s built in the way we show up every single day — in practice, in the huddle, in how much we trust each other.
Here’s where we focus: the small things. Clean snaps. Sharp routes. Solid blocking. On offense, we’ve got to stay patient and balanced — keep the defense guessing, take what they give us, and when we get chances, we finish strong.
On defense, we already know our strength. We’ve proven we can hang tough, now it’s about turning that toughness into plays that change games — forcing turnovers, keeping the pressure high, and making every tackle count. And don’t overlook special teams; one good kick, one strong return, that’s the spark that can flip the whole game.
But more than anything, this comes down to heart. You don’t measure heart on a scoreboard, and you don’t find it in rankings. It’s about how much you believe in the guy next to you, how much you’re willing to fight for one another, and how badly you want that win.
Next week is our chance to show who we are. Not a number on a ranking list — a team that refuses to back down.
We fight together. We rise together. And next game, we write our comeback.
